OVERVIEW

Satoru Gojo is tall (~190cm), has white hair that’s often spiked up and bright blue eyes. He often wears a signature black blindfold or a pair of dark sunglasses.While working, Gojo wears an all-black high-necked jacket with matching pants and dark dress boots. He has also been seen wearing long-sleeved hoodies and black swim trunks.Satoru is normally nonchalant and playful towards his students, close colleagues, and friends. However, he is unsympathetic and cruel towards sorcerer executives and his enemies.During intense battles, Satoru is seen to occasionally fall into a frenzied fighting state. His combative style is characterized by aggressive and domineering attacks. He is capable of being cold-blooded, and will prioritize his enemies’ destruction over saving innocent people when he believes that the sacrifice is unavoidable.However, this only extends to the people killed by his opponent; and he will not do any lasting harm to or kill anyone innocent to gain the upper hand.He is extremely confident in his abilities and reputation as a powerful sorcerer, believing himself to be invincible. His opinion of others often only go as far as his judgement of their strength, and he is quite apathetic towards anyone he deems weak. Additionally, greatly influenced by his own desire for power, he is very arrogant.Satoru’s endgame is to reform the jujutsu world from the bottom-up through education. He seeks to foster a new generation of sorcerers that he hopes will one day become his equals.He has a sweet tooth.Find my portrayal-specific headcanons under my analysis tag.

ABILITIES

Satoru is a powerful sorcerer, wielding immense amounts of cursed energy and flaunting considerable skill. His innate technique- infinity, is a neutral form of his inherited Limitless ⸢無下限⸥ technique.The Infinity functions to slow things down. Any attempt to make contact will slow the approaching object to the point where it will have appear to have stopped.This is due to the infinite amounts of finite space separating two objects- or how in numerical terms, the real number one will only ever approach the real number two due to the infinite amount of fractions that separate them. Satoru can decide what does and doesn’t touch him and can do so based upon mass, speed, and danger ratings.Gojo’s Six Eyes ⸢六眼 ⸥ ability plays some role in his usage of Limitless. This is also an innate technique inherited through his family, and allows him to reduce his cursed energy consumption from technique use to near nothing in order to conserve it. As a result, he will essentially never run out of cursed energy in a fight. Additionally, this technique allows him to perceive the world in terms of mass, speed and cursed energy, giving him invaluable insight into his surroundings.Check out my breakdown of his Infinity, Red, Blue and Purple abilities here!

VERSES

VERSE 01. DEFAULT

What it says on the tin! Gojo Satoru is a teacher at TMMT, in charge of the first years. He spends his time teaching, antagonising his students and colleagues alike, occasionally operating overseas, and pursuing his life goal of trying every new cafe that pops up.

VERSE 02. COMPLIANT

Gojo is sealed by Kenjaku and spends a considerable amount of time within the prison realm before being freed. His time in the cube has long-lasting effects.Upon initial emergence, he appears in a weakened state- overwhelmed by the world and its sensory implications, courtesy of his six-eyes. The higher-ups detain him and push for his execution.The mental strain of being isolated for so long persists for far longer. He remains talkative and obnoxious as always, but there are lapses of silence and indifference that become more apparent. He becomes markedly more vicious when he fights, and takes a newfound and more open glee in doling out somewhat unnecessarily violent retribution.He finds it difficult to remain in dark or cramped spaces (think small rooms, elevators, cars at night), and becomes prone to spontaneously teleporting his way out of situations.Finally, he suffers from frequent night terrors, and is unable to sleep with the lights out.

VERSE 03. DIVERGENT

Gojo avoids being sealed during the Shibuya incident. Thanks to the battle, he is now fully aware of Kenjaku’s presence and use of Suguru Geto’s body. Many of the special grade curses have been dealt with, and his guard is up.

VERSE 04. TMMT

Satoru Gojo is a second year student at Tokyo Metropolitan Magic Technical School. He is classmates with Shoko Ieiri and Suguru Geto, under the care and tutelage of Masamichi Yaga.He is arrogant, headstrong and eager to prove his worth and power. His years at the school are his first lived beyond the walls of his family estate, and the newfound freedom is intoxicating.

VERSE 05. CURSE-USER

Satoru Gojo meets Suguru Geto in Shinjuku one fateful day and chooses to follow him. He leaves behind all his allies to pursue a life with his best friend, who has recently been branded a curse-user for massacring an entire village.Gojo joins Geto’s cause and the duo become a dangerous pair to be contended with. All other things proceed as canon.Alternatively: Satoru Gojo is the one who defects in Geto’s place. Following the encounter with Toji Fushiguro, Satoru massacres the members of the Time Vessel Association, interrupts the Zen'in transaction to take Megumi and Tsukimi, and kills many members of the Zen'in family whilst he’s there, and proceeds to slaughter multiple sorcerers who are sent to apprehend him. He’s currently on the run and labelled as a curse-user, and has an arrest and execution order placed on his head.

VERSE 06. WASTELAND

Satoru Gojo- as according to Kenjaku’s plan, is unsealed a couple hundred to a thousand years post canon. The world he had known is gone, and he finds himself in a new and unfamiliar era.

VERSE 07. GOJO-CAT

Satoru Gojo is a nekomata (貓又). He appears as a large two-tailed white cat with blue eyes and is often seen wearing mini sunglasses which he dislikes having removed. He is able to shapeshift into a human form which is analogous with his canon appearance apart from two white cat ears and a tail which he retains alongside a handful of typical feline behaviours (box-sitting, chasing, aversion to water, e.g.)Nekomata are known to antagonise humans and use pyromancy to set forests and human settlements aflame, and are thought to be spirits of cats which have endured abuse in the past. While Satoru possesses no outward malice to anyone, he is able manipulate fire at will. As for his origins, the latter claim likely rings true as well.Satoru spends his time as a facultative parasite, weaselling into human homes and masquerading as a pet to live a cushy life.
